Established in May 1994, SINO Satellite Communications Company Ltd.
(SINOSAT) is a state-owned telecommunications satellite operator with
its headquarters stationed in Beijing , China . The main business scope
of SINOSAT covers the marketing and leasing of its satellite
transponders; development, operation and management of the satellite
telecommunications systems; the design and construction of the earth
stations and satellite communications networks; as well as technical
consultations.
The purpose of SINOSAT is to take our advantages of the
reliable and advanced satellites, professional and devoted technical
team, to build the philosophy of ¡° customer first ¡± , and provide our
clients with perfect services. SINOSAT will continue to be more active
and creative, to improve our service and seek for more brilliant
reputations.
Since the successful launch of SINOSAT-1 in July 1998,
SINOSAT has devoted itself to provide services to customers both home
and abroad. At present, SINOSAT is providing services via its SINOSAT-1
for around hundred important customers in TV broadcasting, backbone
telecommunications, data transmission, distant learning, as well as
Internet services. Furthermore, the project of "TV broadcasting
to the villages" sponsored by the State Administration of Radio,
Film & Television (SARFT), and the satellite broadband multi-media
transmission platform held by China Education TV Station are also on
board SINOSAT-1. Dozens of domestic and foreign TV and radio channels
are operating on SINOSAT ¨C 1, providing services for hundreds of
millions of audiences. SINOSAT-1 is now really one of the most
important satellite resources for TV and telecommunications both in
China and southeastern Asia .
SINOSAT-3, designated by the State as a dedicated
satellite for TV and radio broadcasting, is successfully launched on June 1, 2007. In addition, at
least two more satellites are planned to be developed by SINOSAT in the
Eleventh Five-Year Plan (2006--2010) in order to meet the rapid growth
of China¡¯s media and telecom industry.
SINOSAT Ground Control Center , which is located in the
north suburbs of Beijing , is responsible for the TT&C of the
satellites. It provides 24 X 7 round-the-clock services to the
customers.
Telecommunications is a field full of potentiality. With
the booming development of the economy of China and the surrounding
Southeastern Asian countries, there must be a huge uprising market for
varieties of telecommunications. SINOSAT, with its satellite fleet,
will come into a completely new epoch.
